A Tale of Two Bloggers

Who are these two faceless bloggers?

I don't have any prizes, but seeing our actual faces in this post will be reward enough I should think.

 The photo above happened because I have no idea how to both hold and take a picture with Sarah's iPhone at the same time. In each attempt, either my head was eating up the whole screen {insert ego jokes here} or it was blurry. It turns out I am not coordinated enough for such a vigorous activity.

We decided it would be best if we flagged down a random passersby down to see if they would like the privilege of taking our picture. Eventually, after passing up a few "undesirables" to take our picture (hey, we don't need to be creeped on by weird men), we got a lady to stop eating and licking her fingers long enough to take an adorable photo of us. What a lucky gal, huh?

Here we are.

This is true blogger love.

Sarah is the first and best blogger friend I have made in my adventures. I sincerely believe my blog wouldn't be close to functioning today without her. Her drive to constantly make her blog better coupled with her tech skills has made me want to have a better blog. On top of that, she is hilarious and we have some great conversations. We communicate most days and I feel like I've known her my whole life. Wow, I am being a total sap. Gross. Anyway, if I knew so much about her and we already get along, why was I nervous to meet her? Probably because she would see what a total goober I am and run in the opposite direction. That's what usually drives folks away. Well, that and my body odor. Kidding.

First Impressions

1. She is far prettier in person. Seriously, her eyes light up a room.

2. Even though we had to stand (waiting for a table at Mongolion Barbeque) for the first half hour, she jumped right into conversation with no awkwardness and plenty of sarcasm.

3. She is not as short as I expected her to be, but that's because she was rocking 4-5" heels. She informed me that I would think she was a munchkin if I saw her without them on.

4.  She is extremely easy to talk to. I could have talked to her for hours. The two hours we were there flew right by. And it wasn't small talk folks. We talked about everything from laughing when people fall to the most serious subject: death. No joke. That's how we roll.

5. She is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the out. She cares deeply for people and anyone who is her friend is extremely lucky. She really is an amazing person!

What I'm Wearing: Sweet On Sunday

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend. I am so full of snot (overshare?) and my head feels like it weighs close to 20 pounds. Sinus infections are stupid. Anyway, I am trying to get over being sick so I don't have a whole lot to say.

This pleated skirt reminds me of a warm spring day and when I am feeling gross, I try to cheer myself up with bright colors. I saw this coral color gleaming from the rack and knew the skirt had to be mine. I paired it with a pussy bow (hee hee) blouse, sheer polka-dotted tights, shiny nude shoes and a pearl bracelet.

What I'm Wearing: Golden Grrrrrl

Whew. Today has just been one of those days. First of all, I had a restless night due to the fact that my little baby dog had a seizure. Luckily this one didn't last long, but I had a hard time getting back to sleep after it was over. Secondly, work was quite busy. The phone rang off the hook all day long coupled with the fact I needed to meet some deadlines. So needless to say I am a little ran down. I came home, ate some dinner and dozed off only to wake up around 6:25pm and realize that there is no way I will be able to make the 6:30pm Zumba class I intended to go to (it's 16 minutes away).  But it's okay. I consoled myself with a large bowl of Edy's Samoa (girl scout cookie) Ice Cream. Yum.

I know you all must never grow tired of my terrible puns and word play and that is why you have the title "Golden Grrrrrl " today. It's because I am wearing goldenrod and leopard. Get it? Yeah, it wasn't great. I apologize. :) I did wear black and brown together today which I absolutely love. Leopard lends itself well to mixing the two colors seamlessly. Speaking of seams, I am off to sew with my mom. Hopefully I will not have to rip too many seams and start over again. Oh the joys of learning to sew.

What I'm Wearing: Mork and Mindy

Greetings, earthlings. I come to you from a planet called Awesome, where my people walk around in metallic leggings and are not stared at like a circus side show. I titled this post "Mork and Mindy" because it's a little space age and a little 80's all rolled into one. Apparently it is customary for people in my small town to stare at me like I just fell from the sky when I wear something a bit different like a sequined sweater and metallic leggings. People wearing Tweety bird shirts have the right to judge my clothing? That's rich.

I found this amazing sweater at the Salvation Army for $2. It's black, has sequins and beaded bows! What's not to love? I love that it's long enough that I can safely pair it with a pair of leggings. I could have went with black or gray leggings, but I saw these babies in my drawer and knew they were the ones. I paired the outfit with some scaly looking pumps and some big chandelier earrings.

What I'm Wearing: Twinkle, Twinkle

Hello everyone! How were your weekends? Mine was fantastic and busy. I even got to play several games of laser tag which I thoroughly enjoyed. Yes, I am a child. I don't want to grow up and you can't make me! Do any of you do anything or eat anything (ahem, Sarah) that is childlike?

Today I was not in the fashion groove. I pulled out this skirt that I haven't wore in a few moons and built my outfit around it. The next thing I grabbed was this great camel blazer that I don't wear nearly enough. I was looking for a way to jazz up this dull ensemble and was ferociously digging through my tanks and camis looking for a bright color or detailed top to make this outfit interesting. When I pulled out this sequined tank I thought "Ding, Ding, Ding! We have a winner!" It meshes well with the color palette and adds some panache to an otherwise boring outfit.

What I'm Wearing: Pick Me!

Good day to you all! Hope you have all had a fabulous weekend. Mine has been busy, but lovely. My endless parade of fun hosiery is still  going strong today with this floral pair. I actually gave these tights to my mom in her stocking two Christmases ago and she gave them back to me saying "These don't look good on my fat legs." Her legs are nowhere near what I would call fat, but alas I gladly welcomed another pair of fun tights into my growing collection.


Valentine's Day is approaching. Some of you may love the holiday, some of you may hate it. I am somewhere in the middle in a zone that I call "meh." It feels like a very forced holiday where guys sweat out getting their girl something that will keep them from being angry. At least that's how I see it. My husband and I usually have a very low key Valentine's Day which is more than fine with me. This year I am thinking a pasta dinner with a glass of wine in the comfort of our own home. Do you guys go all out for Valentine's Day?
