What I'm Wearing: Blue on Black

Welcome to Tuesday: the day that never seems to end! If Tuesday were a theme park A) That would be it's slogan and B)  It would be the worst theme park ever. Are you feeling me on this? Tuesdays always seem to drag on way worse than any other day and I always seem tired and irrational. For example: I got out of the shower this morning, put on my "unmentionables" (that phrase has always made me laugh), looked in the mirror and decided I was fat. I freaked out at my love handles, thighs, tummy, basically everything. Where I could certainly stand to get in better shape - I realize my freak out was ridiculous. In the wise words of LMFAO "I'm Sexy and I know it."

This floral top was calling my name this morning so I worked around it. I pulled out this blue tiered skirt (no it's not all wrinkly, only partially), some thick black tights, an awesome vintage sweater my mom picked up for me and my cobalt shoes. I feel like I've been wearing a lot of black lately and for that I apologize - I love black and own a lot of it.

What I'm Wearing; The Pink Pantser

Hello darlings!  I hope your week has gotten off to a great start! I was a little rushed this morning so I went with what I knew: black and white  - with a splash of color. I thrifted these hot pink pants from the Salvation Army a few weeks ago for $2. They aren't the most gorgeous fit and they have an elastic waist but they pass for cool paired with  he right things.

Did you guys get my title Pink Pantser- Pink Panther. Get it? I am so hilarious. I am sure you are just giggling uncontrollably. Sarcasm. Though I do wish I had a theme song. That would be awesome.

What I'm Wearing: Old School Girl

Hello fabulous people! Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. This is going to be a quick post since I just got home and I'm heading out the door again momentarily. I have seen some other amazing fashion bloggers wearing knee-high socks layered over tights and I absolutely love the look. I just had to give it a whirl. I picked up these Steve Madden "over-the-knee" (knee-highs for tall girls like me) socks yesterday on clearance for $2.97. Perfect opportunity to try out this trend. I was unsure how it would look on me since I am not as thin as the other bloggers I've seen do this, but I really like the way it turned. The bonus is that it keeps your feet extra warm.

This outfit is a little school-girlish but I tried to keep it from being overly so. I bought some other colors of knee socks so I will have to try this out with different skirts and dresses in the future.

I had a little Marilyn Monroe moment in this last photo - just not as graceful.

What I'm Wearing: This...is...LEOPARDY!

Do you see what I did there...with the title? Jeopardy/Leopardy - get it? I love Jeopardy - I haven't watched it in awhile which makes me sad. I like to feel like a genius when I get a bunch of questions right and feel like starting my MENSA application when I get the Final Jeopardy question right. Perhaps I am getting a little ahead of myself.

I've had this awesome dress for awhile now and this is the second time I've wore it and the first time with bold tights. I have to say the bold tights make this outfit for me. The leopard dress is pretty fantabulous on it's own- but add cobalt tights and WHAM - it jumps out at you. Maybe I should have said "Rawr"?
No, I don't have to pee - this is just what happens when I try new poses.

What I'm Wearing: Simply Fabulous

I am a huge lover of black and white. It is my absolute favorite color combination in the whole world. It is a classic combination and always chic. Maybe that's why I drool over Chanel so much?  This outfit is a lot cheaper than Chanel though - in fact most of it is from consignment shops.  The camel coat with the gold buttons elevates the sophistication of this cold weather look.

I feel like I sound far too proper in this post thus far, but my wit is running dry today. So insert some hilarious quips here and chuckle to yourself.

What I'm Wearing: Nothing Rhymes With Orange

Hello gorgeous people! How are you all doing today? Does it seem like this week is already super long to anyone else? Being an adult is super lame. If I could go to school for the rest of my life I totally would, but alas I got a degree years ago and I'm a working girl now (not in the street corner, "Hey baby, come here" sort of way). Working girls need professional attire. I push the boundaries a lot with what I wear to work. A lot of it is very non-traditional, but I think that personal style shouldn't just be for the weekends. So far I've gotten away with it.

This is me trying to be professional (we saw clients today) and keep my funky factor alive. How did I do? Is an orange blazer too much for the office? I think not. Does it bum anyone else out that there is no rhyming word for orange? I like to rhyme because I'm secretly an amazing rapper. Also, Dr. Seuss and I share a birthday - it's in my blood.

DIY: Fancy Gloves

Hello all! This is my first ever DIY post and it's the easiest thing in the world. No sewing or gluing required and you get more bang for your buck!

What you'll need:
                               1. A pair of gloves - your choice (mine are Isotoners I bought on sale for $10)

                                2. Two matching bracelets (stretch work best) or Clip-On earrings

I originally thought I would sew some pearls or a stretch bracelet on to a pair of gloves, but then thought to myself, Why be so limiting? I am fickle and like to change handbags and accessories like I change underwear (yes, that would be on a daily basis) so I decided to show a few different ways you can use your accessories to make beautiful and unique gloves.

Maybe you don't have matching stretch bracelets. I scour clearance racks and buy a couple of the same bracelet at times so I can stack them. The ones I've used above were $3 a piece and under.
They look pretty don't they? All I did was slip the stretch bracelets over top of my gloves and voila! Elegant gloves with a tough edge.

I also used some of my big clip-on earrings to add a more subtle detail to the gloves.
Here is a different pair just to show off how awesome gold looks with the gloves too!

You can use hard bracelets too. I love mixing black and brown - So chic!

Go on dahhhlings, give it a try!

I just love the idea of re-purposing bracelets and clip-ons to transform one pair of gloves into so many different looks! You could use pearl bracelets, wrap ribbon around it to make a sweet bow or any other thing you could imagine! All with no damage to the gloves. Gotta love it!

What do you think of this idea?

What I'm Wearing: Glitz and Glam

I love me some sequins. I fear I am borderline obsessed. I spot sparkle out of the corner of my eye and run to it like a wild Banshee. If you were to get in between me and the sparkling object, I cannot promise you would make it out alive. Just a fair warning. Faux leather leggings have also become an obsession of mine. I have two pair and would wear them every other day if I could. They are comfortable and super stylish. Don't you agree? This is the part where you nod emphatically in agreement so I don't have to give you the stank eye.

I saw this beautiful mini-dress at Forever 21 before the holidays and knew I needed to own it. My mom actually bought it as one of my Christmas gifts and I am just now getting around to wearing it. I don't know what took me so long - but purple sequin dress + leather leggings + magenta blazer = one sassy outfit. I got quite a few compliments on this one - to which I responded "Duh" - kidding. I am not quite that rude and socially awkward.

My Hermès Thrift Find

Ladies and Gentleman I present to you my prized thrift find: The Grand Apparat Hermès scarf!
As I was browsing through the scarf rack at Salvation Army this beauty caught my eye so I picked it up and then saw Hermès - Paris printed on it. I immediately started to tremble and thought to myself "No way!" The price? $1.99. Apparently people in my po-dunk county have no idea who the heck Hermès is. I chuckled as I was ringing up and saw a clutch in the glass case from Banana Republic with $9 marked on it. How funny is that? Not that I'm complaining about paying $1.99 for Hermès!

I wasn't 100% convinced that it wasn't a replica so I did some research on how to tell if it's real and everything checked out from the rolled hand-stitched seams to the proper markings and artist signature.
It turns out this beauty was made in 1962 and the artist is Jacques Eudel. Vintage score!

So I'm pretty proud of this find. I got a few other things too but not as exciting as this!

What's your most prized thrift find?

What I'm Wearing: Quick & Cute

Hello lovelies. I am about out of steam this week, but I had a pretty good day today. I ended up at a Mary Kay party which came with a lot of laughs and some pretty makeup. Do any of you use Mary Kay? I just tried their newest mascara and I'm in love - that's saying something since I am notoriously picky about my mascara.

I woke up late this morning due to the fact my little doggie had a seizure at 4:30 AM and it lasted until 5:30 AM. She has them from time to time and she will be okay - but my heart always breaks for her. So I grabbed this skirt in a hurry and threw some leggings on and a sweater that matched the print of the skirt. Have I mentioned how much bows make me happy? Well they super-duper do and my bow headband was the cherry on the top of my quick outfit.
