What I'm Wearing: Pink-A-Dot

Hey everyone! How are you all doing? Do you have a long weekend ahead? I do have Monday off, and I am super glad for it because it seems like I have not been home at all lately. It will be sweatpants and College Football Bowl Games for me (Go Blue!). Yes, I said sweatpants. Fashion bloggers are allowed sweatpants days too!

For today's outfit I went with a few of my favorite things - polka dots, sequins and pink. I went to my fail-safe combo of skinny jeans and a blazer. I always feel polished when I wear a blazer, because it adds structure to any outfit. Do polka dots make you all as happy as they make me? I let out a little squeal of joy every time I reach for a polka-dotted item in my closet.

What I'm Wearing: Country Cozy

Hey guys. I am sorry I will not be saying a lot this blog post. My man's step-father is in the hospital with a blood clot in both lungs and two in his leg. They have him stabilized and doing better, but it was a scare for all of us. I spent some time in the hospital today, so if I look frazzled, that's why.  Hospitals give me the heebie-jeebies.

Now I am off to sew with my mom. I received a sewing machine for Christmas and did a little of my first machine sewing on Monday. I sew about as well as a two year old colors in the lines. Do any of you sew? Do you have any good tips for sewing straight?

What I'm Wearing: Call of the Wild

Whew! It was a busy work day today. Good thing I had my game face and leopard print on. I was an animal in my meetings. Well not literally, like growling at my clients,  ripping out throats or anything like that. I don't think that behavior would bode well for my career. Just a WILD guess. Get it? Yeah, it was pretty lame.

I have been waiting for an opportunity to bust out this double breasted red jacket. Isn't it pretty? I picked it up for a whopping $6.99 at Forever 21 on the clearance rack. The heavens opened and angels were singing the "Hallelujah Chorus." You know what I mean, right? Because this is actually a pretty thick jacket and the buttons are beautiful on it. It just seems a jacket like this would usually cost a whole lot more. I was pretty pumped. And now I'm rambling. My apologies.

What I'm Wearing: Back to the Grind

And I'm back! Did you guys miss me? I know I missed you guys! It is seriously hard to get dressed for work after a long, but fun weekend. My brain was not functioning at a high level this morning, so picking out clothing was a daunting task. In hindsight, I probably should have wore something that concealed the fact that I'm pregnant...with a food baby. My little food baby grew more and more with each Christmas meal, but that is neither here nor there I suppose.

Did you all have a good Christmas? I had a wonderful holiday weekend. I love spending time with family. I got a lot of great stuff - I feel extremely spoiled. I wore a few of the items my parents gave me today! Like I said, I wasn't feeling particularly creative, so I pulled out a charcoal textured pencil skirt, a long sleeve gray t-shirt and just added pops of color with the teal tights and printed scarf. I put a brooch on the scarf just to add a little more interest to the outfit and topped it all off with a huge butterfly ring.  Actually, funny story about the butterfly ring - some random midde-aged man chased me down an aisle at the grocery store shouting after me just to tell me "That's a nice ring." Weird, but I thanked him nonetheless.

I received this pretty black trench for Christmas. It was the perfect topper for today's outfit.

Merry Christmas!

I wanted to take a moment from this busy weekend to thank each and everyone of you who read, comment and continue to visit my little baby blog. I couldn't do this without your support and encouragement. Words really aren't enough to express my gratitude, but THANK YOU! I hope you are all enjoying making new holiday memories. Merry Christmas to you all!

With love and Christmas joy,

What I'm Wearing: Holiday Sparkle

Happy Holidays! I'm off to my first of four consecutive days of Christmases. I look forward to all of the time with family and fabulous food. I might be 10 pounds heavier when I come out of this weekend, but I am sure I will be plenty jolly. Anyone else starting Christmases tonight?

What I'm Wearing: Merry and Bright

I was ready for some bright and funky colors.  I tend to wear a lot of black and gray once the cold weather sets in, but with the recent heatwave and gray skies, I was inspired to bring some color to the world. "Joy to the world, the Kassi shines, let earth receive their queen." Kidding. That was over-the-top and quite possibly blasphemous, but it was all in jest. These are my first bright tights of the season, and apparently people in small towns have never seen goldenrod tights before because when I went to get lunch and to stop at a store after work, people looked at me like I was out of my tree. Oh well, guess they didn't think my outfit was a ray of sunshine.

I have not wore this floral top since summer, but I love all of the beautiful colors in it. Instead of pairing it with neutrals, I decided to go bold with fuchsia and goldenrod. I did go for neutral shoes though, that counts for something right?  Do you ever go all out and wear several bright colors together?

What I'm Wearing: Modern Day Mrs. Claus

What would Mrs. Claus wear if she was fashionable and younger? I like to think it would look a little something like this. Can you imagine if Mrs. Claus was a bit sexier? I don't think Santa would spend his extra time eating cookies if you know what I mean.

If you've read my blog before you know that black, red and white is probably my favorite color combination in the world. I was more than happy to break out one of my most versatile skirts - this gorgeous red one! I paired it with a soft tie front blouse, satin blazer, patterned tights and boots.

I could live in a top like this one because it is so light and soft. The best part? I found it on the clearance rack at Kohl's and had a 30% off coupon.  Don't you just love it when that happens?

What I'm Wearing: Holiday Heat Wave

It has been unseasonably warm here in southeastern Michigan. The temperature has been hovering around 50 degrees for the last few days -  a  December heat wave in my books. The only time I ever really want snow is Christmas and as of right now it doesn't look like I will be getting it. Wahhhh! Oh well, I will dry my tears and console myself with a cookie or two.... or ten and possibly a pie. I feel my butt growing as we speak. It will reach Kardashian status in 3...2...1.

Today I am participating in Bloggers Rock the Colors of Christmas. I am wearing a few colors on the list: blue, green, white and just a touch of gold.

My mom thrifted this gorgeous skirt for me this past weekend and I couldn't wait to wear it. I love the rich fabric and pleating. I paired it with a striped top, blazer, statement necklace and cute flats for a work appropriate look.

Shirt and Blazer: Charlotte Russe, Skirt: Thrifted from Salvation Army (Thanks, Mom!),
Necklace: JC Penney, Shoes: Loft
