Sweating It Out

Do you ever have one of those days where you severely miscalculate the weather? That was me today. I went with my mom to a local festival and naturally it being fall and all that, I assumed that it would be pleasantly cool. I was pretty comfortable in the morning but as the sun got hotter, my body got sweatier. It might be helpful if I ever checked the weather, but how could I really complain about such a beautiful warm day?
I love this blazer. It's possible that it's just a classier version of a Hawaiian shirt, but I don't care. As I stated in my last post, navy and I have become fast friends and it's beautiful mixed with orange. I paired this wild blazer with a simple crochet tank, jeggings, riding boots and a long orange pendant necklace.

Ahoy, matey!

Hey, guys! Hope you are having a great week so far. I am having a hard time giving up my summer colors, as you can probably see above. Navy is one of my favorite neutrals and it tends to pale me less than black, so it's a double-bonus. I love nautical looks, which I get from my mother who cannot resist buying anything with an anchor on it (you know it's true, mom). There is just something classic and all-American about the nautical look. Don't you agree?

I know this isn't a great picture of the necklace, but this is one of my absolute favorites. It's three layers of gold, blue, starfish and awesomeness. I always get complimented on it when I wear it. It's definitely a fabulous statement piece. I wore this necklace with a strapless peplum top, over-sized grandpa cardigan, red skinnies and patent navy shoes.

Weekend Looks

Top: maurices Skirt: Express Necklace: Macy's Shoes: Kohl's

What do you do with a weekend's worth of outfit pictures that all turned out bad? Blog them of course! I don't know what it was about this weekend ,but I could not take a  decent picture to save my life. Oh well, I still had a nice weekend. What about all of you? This first outfit, I wore on Sunday because I wanted to get my last hoorah in of wearing a skirt with no tights or leggings. Pretty soon it will get too cold here to even think about that. This outfit is one of those deceivingly comfortable ones. The blouse is roomy and the skirt stretch. Who doesn't love a big meal friendly outfit?

This outfit I wore on Saturday to work and out to an art festival. I wanted to be comfortable but still acceptably chic. If I was labeling this outfit by itself I would label it "I'm wearing a zoo" Why?  Though you can't tell very well in the picture, (because of the tall grass)I am wearing leopard print wedges with my elephant print blouse. I kinda wanted to wear my jeweled giraffe necklace too, but thought that might be overkill. I paired my animal picks with black jeggings, a blue and gold statement necklace and a teal blazer. The hat got added into the mix later, as I bought it from a vendor at the art festival. Do you like it? I am weird about hats, I love them, but I am always fussing with them.

Of all my weekend photos, the ones from Friday were the worst. It was rainy and for some reason all of the photos minus this one were blurry, which is sad, because I really liked this outfit, simple as it may be. My favorite part is the fox necklace. I have been seeing animal statement necklaces everywhere and when I saw this fox one, I absolutely had to have it!! Are you all into this animal fashion trend? I, for one am absolutely loving it!

Hope you all have a great start to your week!

Golden Girl

Hey y'all! Hope you are all having a fabulous day! This post title makes me want to have a Golden Girls marathon stat! Anyone else a fan of that show? I swear it never gets old. If I could be any of them, I would want to be Sophia. Wouldn't be amazing to just walk into a room, drop a kickin' one-liner and just leave afterward. That would be living the dream, folks.

Anyway, this outfit is a bit of a departure for me in the way that it involves boyfriend jeans. I am scared to death of relaxed fitting jeans making my already big hips look like the Titanic. The unshrinkable hips. Get it?  *crickets* Nevermind. Anyhow, I tried these boyfriend jeans on and was pleasantly surprised that the length and the fit. I paired them with this gold embossed sweater, bubble necklace and black pumps with gold studs. I am absolutely obsessed with black and gold, you guys. I cannot control myself around it. Something goes wrong in my brain. Do you have any color combination you are loving right now?

Pumpkinberry Pie

It's that time of year. Pumpkin products are everywhere! There are pumpkin doughnuts, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin bread and most importantly pumpkin lattes. So, naturally, I had to jump on the pumpkin-wagon and wear my most seasonal blazer. I combined two colors that don't necessarily stand out as going together, just like pumpkins and berries don't necessarily go together. The thought of a pumpkinberry pie kind of makes me nauseous. Yet, somehow I am now hungry for a big loaf of pumpkin bread with cinnamon butter on top. Mmmmmmmm.

I paired this deep eggplant-colored bow blouse with the deep orange blazer, slim boot-cut jeans, point-toed kitten heels and statement earrings. I literally only wear boot-cut jeans once in a blue moon, mainly because I can rarely find a fit I like that is long enough for my Go-Go Gadget legs. So, naturally I had to buy these the moment I tried them on at work because I loved the wash and the fit! Hallelujah! Is anyone else also excited that big statement earrings are making a comeback?
I realize this post is a bit ADD, sometimes my thoughts are all over the place. My apologies.

Black,White and Chic

Sometimes I don't want to think too hard about what I am going to wear and on those days I go to the colors that never fail me: black and white. Not exactly earth-shattering, I realize, but nonetheless, they are classic and always on trend. Lately, I have been all about pairing graphic t-shirts with feminine skirts, so a graphic print sweater keeps right in with that obsession. This outfit is deceptively cozy.
After I took these pictures, I realized my hair covers the  "Tres Chic" message in every single one. Oh well, long hair, don't care. I paired this cute sweater with a polka dot skirt, statement necklace and black pumps with a silver heel.  A perfect outfit for a girl who isn't ready to give up on summer yet.

So...It's Fall

After 90 degree weather for most of the week, fall has finally showed it's face around here. It was like 35 degrees when I got up for work this morning. Don't get me wrong, I love me some fall, but wasn't expecting such a swift drop in temps. Anyhow, I didn't much feel like wearing pants today, so I opted for sweatpants' chic cousin: the legging. Do you ever just not feel like wearing pants? Sometimes a zipper and a button can make all the difference in comfort.

This top caught my eye for a couple of reasons. 1. It has a total hippie vibe, which I love 2. It's long enough to wear with leggings and 3. It hides any indication that I had a big meal. So all around an appealing find. I paired it with brown leggings, riding boots, a cardi, and a fall hat. This was so easy to throw on this morning and head out the door and I received so many compliments on it. Gotta love that!

Long Time, No See

Well, It's literally been like 10 months since I've done this. Holy cow, that is a long time! I miss it though, and that's why I am back! I didn't stop loving fashion, in fact I do personal styling nearly every day as a profession. But posting random photos of my outfits on instagram and my facebook page just wasn't cutting it. So here I am, back in the saddle, but very rusty. I think my posts from here on out will be less verbose and more photos and styling concepts. I hope you all enjoy and welcome back!! :)

Today I wore a forest green simple maxi dress that I picked up at forever 21 for $14.90 this past weekend. I am so in love with this color for fall and I want so many more pieces in it! It serves at the perfect blank slate for accessories. Today I chose a leopard print infinity scarf, wide woven brown belt, menswear watch and boots as my accessories.  I can also see layering this in so many fun ways for fall.
