Today I was not in the fashion groove. I pulled out this skirt that I haven't wore in a few moons and built my outfit around it. The next thing I grabbed was this great camel blazer that I don't wear nearly enough. I was looking for a way to jazz up this dull ensemble and was ferociously digging through my tanks and camis looking for a bright color or detailed top to make this outfit interesting. When I pulled out this sequined tank I thought "Ding, Ding, Ding! We have a winner!" It meshes well with the color palette and adds some panache to an otherwise boring outfit.
Blazer: Express, Skirt: Clothes Mentor, Sequined Tank: Macy's, Bracelets: Jule
Shoes: Bandolino via Elder Beerman, Tights: I cannot remember
What do you think of this look?
Yay, shout out! And by the way, you light up my life... or maybe that should be sparkle up my life. Very pretty top.

I love a good monochromatic outfit!! It gives me some ideas of how to style my camel colored blazer that I have yet to wear because of lack of styling ideas! Cute cute cute.

Oh, and I mean monochromatic *colored* outfit!
DeleteI am hooked on your style. I absolutely adore your outfits. They inspire and entertain me.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of acting young. Growing old is unavoidable but growing up is optional. I do all kinds of childish and adolescent activities; they keep life interesting and stimulate my creativity.
Loove this outfit! And everything I do is childish ;) I'm watching Sailor Moon right now and I'm still obsessed with Disney movies.

Oooh, yes that top is a winner for sure! It went with your color palette perfectly and accomplished exactly what you were looking for :)
ReplyDeleteI like making new outfits based around something I haven't worn in a long time. Makes me feel like I'm actually getting some use out of my closet. Haha, and I want to go play laser tag! :0 I went paint balling once. Haha, painful but fun.

I really like this one! I've tried to make the sparkly shirt / tweed skirt combo work before and failed. You look very cohesive and polished.
ReplyDeleteLOve the outfit especially the sparkly shirt. Nice way to tone it down but still make it stand out.
ReplyDeleteI love it. I love earth tones and mix of textures so this is something that appeals to me.

you're very good when it comes to putting together colours. I like it how you've actually used practically one colour but the outfit still looks interesting enough :)

That sequin top is a real show stopper and it looks perfect with the camel & tweed <3
ReplyDeleteI sometimes eat nutella with a spoon straight out of the jar, I used to do that a lot as a kid when mum wasn't watching!
Absolutely love this outfit! I love the colour palette and that top is stunning!

What a fantastic way to add some pizazz to your outfit. I think I would be more confident now wearing sequins in the day after seeing your look. You've kept it simple and classy and like how you've kept the rest of your outfit in the same colour palette.
ReplyDeleteLove the different shades of brown - and that sequin top adds the perfect amount of fun! Who doesn't love some laser tag? :)

your sequin top is so pretty. Happy Valentine’s Day!
ReplyDeleteKassi, how do you do it? Every single day, you put together a winning look! If I posted outfits every day, it's inevitable you'd occasionally get a khaki pants and polo combo, or better yet, a pajama pants and ratty tee combo. lol You look gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteAs for being childlike, oh yes, I'm a kid at heart. I eat PB&J's with my 3yr old. I love candy like Pez and twizzlers and gummy bears. And I like to play Angry Birds and Temple Run. =)
Great outfit!! You look great :)
ReplyDeleteOh yes! I say YES to this outfit, and that top is amazing.
ReplyDeleteI love how you styled that sparkly top, the contrast with the rest of the look is perfect !

I don't care what you say, I love all the various shades of brown in this outfit! I know you're more of a brights kind of girl, but neutrals look great on you too. The sequined tank adds just the right amount of interest too.

Okay, so i have used cute & darling. What do I do now? I guess this is what I get for getting so far behind in my "blogging duites", huh?
ReplyDeleteHow about this... I am happy EVERY TIME I see your latest post pop up. I just know there will be something there that will make me smile.
A great look for having not been in a "fashion groove". Between you and I, almost every outfit I ever wear starts with a skirt and then everything else works around it. you probably knew that, huh?
BTW... favor to ask, please don't use words like 'panache' anymore... some of us are not that sophisticated. Hee Hee
I really do LOVE your blog. Can you tell?
