What I'm Wearing: Green With Envy

Well, I am wearing lace and a blazer for the second day in a row. What can I say? Blazers are pretty much my wardrobe go-to. Is there anything you turn to time and time again? At least today's blazer is  in a super fun color. I was pretty happy when I found this hanging on the rack at Salvation Army.  The texture is also unique so it makes for a great statement piece.

I often rely on accessories to make the vibe of my entire outfit. I gave this look more of a vintage vibe by adding a floral belt and amazing necklace. My best friend made my necklace. She happens to be an amazing jewelry designer. I would highly recommend you like Owl and Lark here on facebook. She has a spring collection coming out soon and I guarantee it will contain some really unique and cool pieces. There is my plug for her (she doesn't even know I'm doing this so blow up her facebook page, it will be a great surprise).

What I'm Wearing: Champagne Angel

Hello lovelies! I am sorry to have been away so long. I've still been fighting a sinus infection and then on Friday my boss passed away suddenly. The funeral was yesterday and I've been dealing with a bit of uncertainty with my job. No worries though, I will be fine no matter what (I believe that my job will be fine). I am tremendously blessed and have the best people in my life that I could ever ask for.

On to the outfit. I absolutely love white denim, but it terrifies me. I am clumsy and I tend to be a messy eater. Not the best combo for white pants. I managed to make it through the day with no spills though. Can I get a round of applause? Thank you, thank you. You all are too much. I also had to get my driver's license renewed today. The kind of renewal where I had to go to the Secretary of State office and get my picture taken. I have had one good driver's license picture in my life, and it was when I was a tan, skinny 16 year old. These days I just cross my fingers and hope it doesn't look like a mug shot. I thought from the brief flash that this one went okay, that is until I got to the car and realized I had a hair sticking up. So I am pretty sure I will look like Alfalfa from Little Rascals in the photo. Charming.

What I'm Wearing: South By Southwest

It's a weird week when I wear pants to work three days in a row to work. A true sign that I've been sick. I wore skinny cords in yesterday's post and they were so comfortable, I had to wear my other pair the very next day. Don't judge. At least they weren't the SAME pair. I am only that gross when I think no one is looking.

So I picked up this awesome southwestern printed scarf on a retail therapy-fueled lunch earlier this week. I adore the color palette and it was so easy to find thing that go with it. Fun fact about me: I kind of like things to match. It took me a long time to throw in a different shoe color or to mix patterns. I am old-fashioned that way. The color of my tank and cardigan can be found in the scarf and my shoes also incorporate colors that are in the scarf, although I feel I should get half credit for them being a different pattern. Do you tend to match things?

What I'm Wearing: Marigold-Round

Hello fashionable friends! How are you all doing today? I get a little better everyday in recovering from my Sinus Infection and I so appreciate all of your well wishes. You guys rock. Maybe in a day or two, I will even stop sounding like a honking goose when I talk. That would be nice.

Because I am recovering from being sick, I wanted to stay nice and warm. I layered this amazing marigold colored jacket (note the interesting collar) over an oatmeal colored thin sweater. I had been scoping out the deep blue skinny cords I have on for awhile and to my delight I found them in my size on the clearance rack at Kohl's for $13.60. Yes! I capped the outfit off with some fun shoes and simple earrings because the jacket says a lot on it's own.

What I'm Wearing: Neon Glam

Hello wonderful people. Are you all pumped for the spring neon trend? I am loving the way it's being shown on the runways. It's far more sophisticated than the 80s/90s variety that we have grown accustomed to. Thank Goodness. I am not all about wearing stacked neon scrunchies ever again. You picking up what I'm throwing down?

I purchased this neon yellow-green sweater in the fall and I am so glad I bought it. It has been a breath of fresh air among my winter blacks and grays. I paired it with some soft cropped pants, nude pumps, a little bling and a healthy dose of fur. The texture of the pants along with the sparkles and fur really add a lot of glam to a plain thin sweater, don't you think?

I was feeling super icky when I took these photo, so please excuse the bad hair and red nose!

What I'm Wearing: I Got it From My Mama

What exactly did I get from my mama? Well, I do tend to look like her, but that's not what I'm talking about. I actually got this outfit idea from my mom. How? Well she owns a black and white pair of leopard print pants that she has wore under a long red sweater I got her for Christmas. Yes, she is totally awesome like that. Because of her, I found another way to wear my leggings. Hooray for moms!

I am grateful that you can't tell in these pictures that my nose is as red as my dress. I have a sinus infection that keeps me constantly blowing my nose. I feel much better, but I wish it would go away entirely. Stupid snot.

A Tale of Two Bloggers

Who are these two faceless bloggers?

If you guessed Sarah from Coming Unstitched and me then you win!
I don't have any prizes, but seeing our actual faces in this post will be reward enough I should think.
The photo above happened because I have no idea how to both hold and take a picture with Sarah's iPhone at the same time. In each attempt, either my head was eating up the whole screen {insert ego jokes here} or it was blurry. It turns out I am not coordinated enough for such a vigorous activity.

We decided it would be best if we flagged down a random passersby down to see if they would like the privilege of taking our picture. Eventually, after passing up a few "undesirables" to take our picture (hey, we don't need to be creeped on by weird men), we got a lady to stop eating and licking her fingers long enough to take an adorable photo of us. What a lucky gal, huh?

Here we are.

This is true blogger love.

Sarah is the first and best blogger friend I have made in my adventures. I sincerely believe my blog wouldn't be close to functioning today without her. Her drive to constantly make her blog better coupled with her tech skills has made me want to have a better blog. On top of that, she is hilarious and we have some great conversations. We communicate most days and I feel like I've known her my whole life. Wow, I am being a total sap. Gross. Anyway, if I knew so much about her and we already get along, why was I nervous to meet her? Probably because she would see what a total goober I am and run in the opposite direction. That's what usually drives folks away. Well, that and my body odor. Kidding.

First Impressions

1. She is far prettier in person. Seriously, her eyes light up a room.

2. Even though we had to stand (waiting for a table at Mongolion Barbeque) for the first half hour, she jumped right into conversation with no awkwardness and plenty of sarcasm.

3. She is not as short as I expected her to be, but that's because she was rocking 4-5" heels. She informed me that I would think she was a munchkin if I saw her without them on.

4.  She is extremely easy to talk to. I could have talked to her for hours. The two hours we were there flew right by. And it wasn't small talk folks. We talked about everything from laughing when people fall to the most serious subject: death. No joke. That's how we roll.

5. She is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the out. She cares deeply for people and anyone who is her friend is extremely lucky. She really is an amazing person!
