What I'm Wearing: Mixed Messages

We're over the "humpty-hump, come on do the humpty-hump". You remember that song? Good times. I am so tired right now. What is it about the middle of the week that makes me feel like I've been hit by a Mack truck? I think this week it's partially because my honey has been sick and I've been fighting it off with mixed results. So at times, it has kept me just a little under the weather. Enough whining though - no one likes a Debbie Downer!

I dressed down for work today since I didn't have any appointments. Sometimes a cold day just calls for a pair of jeans and a cool (faux) leather jacket. I paired it with one of my Black Friday acquisitions - a beautiful forest green tie-front blouse. Don't you just love a good shirt with a bow? I know I do. Girly stuff makes me do stupid little dances of joy. I titled this outfit Mixed Messages because I have toughness of the faux leather jacket, the girly side with the soft bow adorned blouse, and the fashion forward side with the leopard wedges. I wore a black rhinestone belt around the elastic part of the shirt and put on some pretty gemstone earrings for a little added glam. Maybe I shouldn't have called it a mixed message though - because I think this outfit screams a single message: Awesomeness.

Here are some closer-ups of some of the details.

Faux Leather Jacket: K-Mart, Blouse: Macy's, Jeans: LC Lauren Conrad via Kohl's, Shoes: Jessica Simpson via TJ Maxx, Belt: Jule, Earrings: Kohl's

  19. I'm a sucker for bows and ruffles too, but sadly lacking in the pleather/leather jacket department. Weird question, but are your leopard shoes furry? I'm looking for a pair that aren't just leopard print, but that actually have the teeny little hairs. I want to look like I just murdered a leopard! LOL.

  40. Okay, I want your shoes!! Seriously, they're pretty amazing!

And it's funny because I was just thinking the same thing. This week seems like it was a month long and I'm exhausted to my bones!! I'm doing a happy dance because it's Thursday, which doesn't mean a whole lot except that the Hubs and I always have date night in on Thursday nights to celebrate the fact that the work week is almost over. =)
